On Saturday, July 25, from 1 to 2 p.m., the Historical Society of Sarasota County and the Sarasota Alliance for Historical Preservation will host a forum for the five candidates who qualified to run for the two at-large Sarasota City Commission seats on the ballot this year, the organizations have announced.

The event will be conducted at the Crocker Church, which stands at 1260 12th St. in Sarasota, a news release says.

Jeff LaHurd, director of the Historical Society, will moderate the event, the release adds.

Although the event is free and open to the public, registration is required at this link.

“All five City Commission candidates have confirmed they’ll attend,” the announcement notes. “This is a rare chance to hear directly from each of them, in one room, on the issues that shape how Sarasota protects its historic buildings, neighborhoods, and character as the city continues to grow,” the event notice points out.

The candidates are incumbent Jen Ahearn-Koch, Flo Entler, John Harshman, Rob Rominiecki and Yevgeny Khodorkovsky.
