About 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, the Sarasota Police Department announced that personnel are “investigating a report of shots fired” about 10 a.m. that day.
The incident occurred in the 3400 block of North Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, a news release said.
No injuries were reported, the release pointed out, adding that “detectives believe this was an isolated incident. All individuals involved are accounted for and being cooperative.”
The release also noted, “The case remains under investigation.”
A map shows that the location is near the intersection of Putnam Drive and North Tamiami Trail, about a block south of the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Myrtle Street.
The Memories Lounge bar is in the area, too, standing at 3428 N. Tamiami Trail.
