Sarasota County Tax Collector Barbara Ford-Coates is reminding all business owners that the 2017-18 Sarasota County Business Tax is due by Sept. 30.

“Since the 30th falls on the weekend, payments will be accepted in person only on Monday, October 2nd,” Ford-Coates explained in a news release.

Any Business Tax that remains unpaid after that date will be delinquent, and additional money will be due, the release points out.

The quickest and easiest way to pay is to go to the Tax Collector Office’s website, www.SarasotaTaxCollector.com, the release continues. After the online payment has been completed, a Business Tax receipt can be printed immediately, the release notes. Payments also may be made by mail or in person at any Tax Collector’s Office Service Center Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.:

  • Downtown Sarasota, located at 101 S. Washington Blvd. (entrance on Adams Lane).
  • South Sarasota, located at 8484 S. Tamiami Trail.
  • Venice, located at the R.L. Anderson Administration Center at 4000 S. Tamiami Trail.

In North Port, payments may be made at North Port City Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 27, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Any business that has not received a renewal notice or any new business that has not registered should contact the Tax Collector’s Office immediately at 861-8300, Option 3, or by email at Info@SarasotaTaxCollector.com.

Businesses in the Cities of Sarasota, Venice and North Port and in the Town of Longboat Key also may be required to pay an additional city business tax, the release says.
