Event to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Twin Lakes Park

On Saturday, March 7, the Sarasota County Master Gardener Volunteers of the University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension program will hold their Spring Plant Sale from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Extension office and demonstration gardens at Twin Lakes Park, the group has announced.
Twin Lakes Park stands at 6600 Clark Road in Sarasota.
“This family-friendly event is the perfect way to kick off the spring gardening season with locally grown plants while supporting your local Master Gardener Volunteers,” a news release says.
“Proceeds from the sale directly benefit community programs that expand gardening education and promote environmental stewardship throughout Sarasota County,” the release explains. Shoppers may choose “from hundreds of Florida-friendly plants, including shrubs, trees, palms, wildflowers, butterfly plants, natives” and edibles, the release notes.
“Extension-trained Master Gardener Volunteers will be on site to answer questions and offer practical gardening and landscaping advice tailored to local conditions,” the release points out.
One of the event’s annual highlights, it continues, is the on-site Plant Clinic, to which attendees “can bring plant samples or landscaping questions for personalized assistance. Powered by the latest University of Florida research, the Plant Clinic provides accurate, practical, and locally relevant support for gardeners of all experience levels,” the release says.
Admission is free, the release adds. Plants will be available for purchase on site while supplies last, it points out.
“Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, the Spring Plant Sale offers inspiration, education, and a chance to grow something beautiful this season,” the release says.
