This week, the Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMH) was named one of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers by Newsweek, “a recognition that places its Rehabilitation Pavilion among the top in the nation for inpatient rehabilitative care,” SMH has announced.

“The annual ranking, developed in partnership with data intelligence firm Statista, highlights the top 320 inpatient physical rehabilitation facilities across the United States,” a news release explains. “Inclusion on this list shows that SMH delivers superior outcomes and care, based on an evaluation of quality measures, accreditation, and feedback from medical experts and patients,” the release points out.

“It’s an honor to have our rehab team recognized for the excellent care they provide patients,” said David Verinder, CEO of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, in the release. “This ranking reflects not only their care and commitment, but the priority and resources we invest in helping people recover and regain independence after surgery, illness or injury.”

The release explains, “Physical rehabilitation plays a critical role in the continuum of care patients require. At Sarasota Memorial’s Rehabilitation Pavilion, which offers a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, patients benefit from a hospital-based, multidisciplinary team of specialists that includes physicians, physical, occupational and speech therapists, and specially trained and certified rehab nurses and technologists who provide tailored therapies to restore function, mobility, and quality of life.”
