The Sept. 8 meeting of the Sarasota County Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA) will focus on the Nov. 3 General Election, leaders of the nonprofit organization have announced.

The event will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Meeting Room A at Gulf Gate Library, which stands at 7112 Curtiss Ave. in Sarasota.

“The November election will include more than candidates. Voters will also be asked to decide important state constitutional amendments and local ballot initiatives that could have long-term impacts on Sarasota County,” the meeting notice says.

Among those issues will be the Florida Legislature’s proposed Amendment 3 to the state Constitution, which County Administrator Jonathan Lewis addressed during the Aug. 21 County Commission budget workshop.

“Join us for CONA’s September public meeting for an informative look at what will be on your ballot and what these measures mean,” the CONA notice adds.
