Siesta Key Condominium Council meeting on Feb. 13 to focus on Florida legislation regarding condominiums

The Siesta Key Condominium Council will conduct its next meeting at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Siesta Key Chapel, which is located at 4615 Gleason Ave. on the northern part of Siesta Key, the organization has announced.

The guest speaker will be Sarasota attorney Dan Lobeck, who is a partner in the Lobeck & Hanson law firm.

His remarks will focus on action of the 2023 Florida Legislature, as well as bills filed or expected in the 2024 session, that are of importance to condominium owners and associations, the Council says.

Among those topics will be the following, the Council notes:

  • “Milestone Building Inspections.
  • “ ‘Structural Integrity’ Reserve Studies (SIRS) and Funding.
  • “Insurance, Budget Recalls, Flags, Official Records.
  • “Dispute Mediation, Unit Sale Disclosures.
  • “Estoppel Fees, Director Education, Conflicts of Interest.
  • “Criminal Penalties, Association Operations.
  • “Management Transfer Cooperation, Hurricane Protection Rules.”
