The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) has named Dr. Fredric Jarrett of Sarasota a recipient of the 2025 Excellence in Community Practice Award, “recognizing his outstanding leadership and enduring commitment to community-based vascular care,” the Sarasota Memorial (SMH) Health Care System has announced.

“A dedicated volunteer physician at Sarasota Memorial’s Community Specialty Clinic” for more than seven years, “Jarrett delivers compassionate, expert vascular care for Sarasota County residents who are uninsured or underinsured, and in need of specialty services,” a news release explains.

“Dr. Jarrett graciously volunteers his time and expertise for our patients, staff and primary care providers in our community,” said Dr. Rickey Wiseman, medical director of the SMH Community Specialty Clinic, in the release. “He also mentors the Florida State University medical students that rotate through our clinic,” Wiseman continued. “Despite his years of volunteer practice, he asks for no remuneration for his services. We are so grateful for his consistent and continued service,” added Wiseman in the release.

“ Wiseman recommended Dr. Jarrett for the award,” the release points out.

“The Excellence in Community Practice Award is presented annually to an SVS member who demonstrates sustained contributions to patient care, professional practice, and the advancement of vascular surgery in a community setting,” the release explains. “The award reflects the Society’s commitment to recognizing those whose work extends beyond the operating room and into the heart of the communities they serve,” it adds.
