This week, Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner announced the revision of some Sarasota County voting precincts and polling locations. “The updates are designed to streamline precinct boundaries and make the voting experience more efficient for voters,” a news release explains.

“In 2023, ahead of the 2024 election cycle, we evaluated our precincts and polling locations and made changes based on growth in the county,” Turner said in the release. “Similarly, in advance of the 2026 midterms, we once again studied precinct and polling place capacity and have made changes to improve the process for voters.”

Altogether, “37 precincts were affected by the precinct and polling place change project,” the release notes. Some were consolidated, “while others had their polling locations moved, either out of necessity or for the convenience of the voter. In other cases, precinct boundaries were changed to align with growth or annexation,” the release points out.

In November 2025, the Sarasota County Commission reviewed and approved the changes, the release says. “There are 98 precincts and 83 election day polling locations in the county,” it adds.

“If you are a voter assigned to a new precinct and/or polling location, our office will notify you by mail in the coming weeks,” the release continues. “Affected voters will see new voter information cards hitting mailboxes in March,” it notes.

“My hope is that these changes will make voting in Sarasota County even easier,” Turner said in the release. “I strongly encourage all voters to periodically check their precinct and polling place location by using the Find my Precinct tool on our website, SarasotaVotes.gov,” he added.

Voters with questions about their precincts and Election Day polling places may call 941-861-8619 for assistance, the release points out.
