Time running out to register for Gulf Coast Community Foundation’s Better Together event on March 16

First 200 attendees to receive complimentary gift

Time is running out for the public to register for Better Together, the Gulf Coast Community Foundation’s “outdoor, free, fun, reimagined event” on March 16, the nonprofit has announced.

Better Together will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, in the 1500 block of State Street in downtown Sarasota, the release points out. Everyone in the community “is invited to celebrate our nonprofit region and the impact of philanthropy,” the release says. The first 200 attendees will receive a complimentary gift courtesy of the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.

Registration can be completed through Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/gulf-coast-community-foundations-better-together-2023-tickets-536113348457.

“We are excited to celebrate all we can accomplish together at our Better Togetherblock party on March 16,” said Kelly Borgia, the Gulf Coast Community Foundation’s strategic engagement manager, in the release. “Better Together will provide a fun and lively space for Gulf Coast’s donors, nonprofit partners, and our community members of all ages to come together to celebrate collaboration, community, and connection,” Borgia continued in the release. “Gulf Coast’s initiatives will be highlighted through fun, interactive booths. You really won’t want to miss this celebratory, special event,” Borgia added.

Better Together’s free activities will celebrate education, the arts, health and human services, and the environment, “including performances by local musicians, a mini Venice Shark Hunt, and the opportunity to do a random act of kindness for a community helper,” the release points out. Attendees also will be able to collaborate with local artist Brandon Thrift “(known for his “Spread Love” artwork)” to create a community art piece, the release notes.

Additionally, the event will feature artists from the Circus Arts Conservatory, face painting, and a 360-degree photo booth.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase, including Better Together ice cream sandwiches from Rise and Nye’s, the release says. Parking will be available in the State Street parking garage. Gulf Coast will have check-in tables for registration at either end of State Street, near the parking garage and Hyde Park Steakhouse.
