The Siesta Key Village Association will hold its monthly meeting at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at the Daiquiri Deck Raw Bar, with updates scheduled on noise issues and crosswalks in Siesta Village.
Members also will discuss the third Crystal Classic Master Sandsculpting Competition, set for Nov. 8-12 on Siesta Public Beach, and Light Up the Village, set for Nov. 24.
The Crystal Classic is expected to bring about 40,000 people to the beach to see the work of internationally known sandsculptors. Light Up the Village, which kicks off the holiday season in the Village, is the largest event the SKVA sponsors annually. Members have been at work for several months already, planning the parade and entertainment for the evening’s festivities.
Additionally during the SKVA meeting, President Russell Matthes plans a recap of the presentation by Rob Lewis, director of planning and community development for Sarasota County, during the organization’s Aug. 7 meeting.
The Daiquiri Deck Raw Bar is located at 5250 Ocean Blvd.
