Pre-register by Feb. 7 online or by phone for $15; on-site registration costs $25
The annual Say “I Do” Again vow renewal ceremonies will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, on public beaches on Siesta Key and in Nokomis, Sarasota County staff has announced.
Hosted by the Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department (PRNR) for more than 35 years, “this Valentine’s Day sunset ceremony includes light refreshments, music, and photo opportunities,” a news release points out. Each registered couple also will receive a flower and a renewal certificate, the release adds.
Couples may register in advance for the non-denominational vow renewals, which will be officiated by Judge Stephen Walker at Siesta Beach and Judge Maria Ruhl at Nokomis Beach, the release notes.
“Our renowned beaches are the best places to celebrate love on Valentine’s Day,” said PRNR Program Coordinator Catherine Wunderlich in the release. “The beautiful sunset, atmosphere and being surrounded by hundreds of couples make Say ‘I Do’ Again so special,” she added in the release.
The fee per couple to pre-register online or by phone (941-861-7275), by Feb. 7, is $15, the release points out.
On-site registration will open at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 14, the release continues, with each ceremony beginning promptly at 6 p.m. That cost is $25 per couple, via credit card only, the release adds.
Siesta Beach is located at 948 Beach Road on Siesta Key; Nokomis Beach is located at 100 Casey Key Road in Nokomis.
