The application period for the Gulf Coast Community Foundation’s highly anticipated 2025 Gulf Coast Leadership Institute is open, the nonprofit announced on March 11.

The Gulf Coast Leadership Institute has been designed to develop “a network of skilled, action-oriented leaders who are committed to using their leadership skills to help transform their communities through service,” a news release explains. “For the 2025 class, up to 25 people will be selected to participate in leadership development sessions over a two-month period beginning in May at Gulf Coast’s Sarasota Philanthropy Center,” which stands at 1549 State St., the release adds.

The application period will close on Tuesday, April 22, the release points out. “The online application, statement of commitment, and overview for the program are available at GulfCoastCF.org/GCLI.”

“Gulf Coast Leadership Institute offers a unique opportunity for individuals to strengthen their leadership skills while building meaningful connections with others who are passionate about making a difference in our community,” said Gulf Coast President and CEO Phillip Lanham in the release. “I highly encourage current and aspiring leaders to apply and take part in this valuable experience.”

“Led by faculty of the internationally acclaimed Leadership Development Institute at Eckerd College, the institute will provide leadership skills and resources necessary to positively influence the region,” the release continues. “Class members will take part in in-person, experiential small and large group activities that prepare them to become knowledgeable, skilled, and action-oriented leaders in their community,” the release notes.

The leaders of the Gulf Coast Community Foundation encourage individuals to apply for the unique Gulf Coast Leadership Institute, which is provided at no cost to participants, the release adds. “This immersive program will connect and engage aspiring, emerging, and experienced community leaders from the Gulf Coast region in key leadership development practices,” it points out. To date, more than 400 participants have participated in the Gulf Coast Leadership Institute, the release says.
