City of Sarasota offices, facilities to be closed Nov. 27-28 for Thanksgiving holiday

No garbage, recycling or yard waste collections to take place that day

City of Sarasota administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28, in observance of Thanksgiving, the staff has announced.

No garbage, recycling, or yard waste will be collected on Thanksgiving Day, a news release points out. Pickups will resume on Friday, Nov. 28, with a one-day delay, the release adds. Thursday’s pickup will take place on Friday, and Friday’s pickup will be moved to Saturday.

The Bay Runner trolley will operate on its regular schedule of 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., on Nov. 27 and 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Nov. 28, the release does note.

Holiday hours of operation at City of Sarasota facilities will vary, as follows:

The box office of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, located at 777 N. Tamiami Trail, will be closed on Nov. 27 for Thanksgiving; it will reopen on Friday, Nov. 28.
