Hour-long sessions on variety of topics held at historic main pavilion
The Beach University series, hosted by Sarasota County’s Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department, will return to Siesta Public Beach for the 17th year, starting March 7, county staff has announced.
“Beach University is held at the historic main pavilion beginning at 9:30 a.m. every Thursday in March,” a news release points out.
In partnership with the Siesta Beach Ambassador volunteer program, this free educational series invites community residents and visitors to learn about coastal environments during one-hour sessions, the release explains.
The following is the 2024 schedule:
- March 7 — Human and Wildlife Conflict.
- March 14 —Reef Ball and its Contribution to the Marine Environment.
- March 21 —Manatee Rehabilitation at The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature.
- March 28 —The Trickle-down Effect: Stormwater to Bay Life.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs, as seating is limited, the release notes. “No registration is required.”
