Benderson Park reopens to the public

Facility had been closed because of effects of Hurricane Ian

Nathan Benderson Park, Sarasota County’s world-renowned rowing facility near University Parkway, reopened to the public at 4 p.m. on Oct. 19, the park’s nonprofit management group, the Benderson Park Conservancy, announced.

The park is expected to maintain its regular hours, which are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., a news release says.

The Balducci Playground does remain closed until the “Conservancy team deems it safe to reopen,” the release adds.

Further, traffic cones and cordons have been placed around certain spots on the grounds for safety purposes, the release says.

“Our goal is to maintain a safe, inviting environment for the communities we serve,” the release pointed out. Check nathanbendersonpark.org for the most up-to-date information, the release notes.
