CareerEdge launches automotive fast-track training program at Suncoast Technical College in Sarasota

Classes to run through Aug. 30

CareerEdge has launched what it says is its “highly anticipated” Automotive FastTrack Training Program at Suncoast Technical College (STC).

“This innovative program is specifically designed to fast-track individuals into successful careers as automotive technicians, catering to the surging demand for skilled professionals in the ever-evolving automotive industry,” a news release explains.

The tuition-free classes began on June 6 and will run through Aug. 30, with sessions held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at the technical college’s main campus, located at 4748 Beneva Road in Sarasota.

The program includes “CareerEdge’s Bridges to Careers soft skills and employability training,” the release points out. Funding for the initiative “is made possible by the CareerEdge Funders Collaboration community,” the release adds.

Local employers and Suncoast Technical College staff worked together to determine the curriculum for the program, “which will be a condensed version of STC’s Automotive Service Technologies program,” the release explains.

“The Bridges to Careers FastTrack Training Program offers an immersive learning experience that combines comprehensive theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical training,” the release points out. Participants “have exclusive access to cutting-edge diagnostic equipment and benefit from the expertise of experienced industry professionals,” the release adds. “Through industry partnerships, students will gain invaluable real-world experience and insights,” it notes.

The curriculum encompasses a broad range of topics, including electrical systems, engine diagnostics, hybrid and electric vehicle technology, and computerized diagnostics, the release says.

“Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be awarded entry-level certification, validating their expertise and enhancing their employability,” the release points out. Further, “CareerEdge is committed to providing ongoing career support and guidance to graduates, connecting them with reputable automotive industry partners for job placements.”
