On Monday, Nov. 6, members of the Sarasota County Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA) will mark the nonprofit’s 56th anniversary with a party at Michael’s On East in Sarasota, CONA has announced.

The guest of honor will be Gerry Swormstedt, a former director of CONA and the current chair of the Sierra Club, a news release says. She has a long history of participation in civic affairs, having worked with many organizations, the release notes. “So please forward our invitation to those you know from other community organizations who should join in our tribute to her, and send your favorite anecdote about her, to add to ours,” the release says.

The annual fundraiser will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Ballroom A at the restaurant, located at 1212 S. East Ave. in Midtown Plaza. The event will feature “great food, great company, great door prizes, and an update on our scholars,” the release continues.

The cost is $50 per person, the release notes, adding, “if you can’t attend, please donate.”

To make a reservation, go to the contact page of CONA’s website, where a Paypal link is available, the release says, or send a check to Box 15788, Sarasota, Florida 34277.
