Area residents and visitors are invited to attend one of two public meetings next week to offer comments on the Legacy Trail extension, Sarasota County staff has announced.

“Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources staff will share a brief presentation at the start of each meeting, followed by open discussion and public input opportunities,” a news release says.

The meetings are scheduled as follows:

  • 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the Payne Park auditorium, which is located at 2100 E. Laurel St. in Sarasota.
  • 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, at The 360 Church, which is located at 5250 McIntosh Road in Sarasota.

Both meetings will be identical and will allow for community members to provide comments about the design and amenities along the extension, the release points out. People wishing to learn more or share their thoughts are encouraged to attend one of these sessions, the release adds.
