The District One staff of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is inviting the public to participate in an online survey regarding the future of State Road 780/Fruitville Road, FDOT has announced.

The survey, which should take about 5 to 10 minutes, can be found on the project website at www.swflroads.com/sr780/fruitvillevision/, an FDOT news release says.

The project webpage explains that District One staff of FDOT is preparing a Corridor Vision Plan for approximately 6 miles of State Road 780 (Fruitville Road), from U.S. 301 to just east of Interstate 75. This plan would evaluate the existing conditions of the corridor, including traffic/safety and socioeconomic factors, cultural resources, and multimodal connections and opportunities, the webpage points out. “The plan will also assess the land use adjacent to the corridor, local municipal policies (e.g. Community Redevelopment Areas), concurrent planning, and public input,” the webpage adds.

Information the public shares in the survey will help FDOT staff better understand local needs, the news release says. “This valuable data will help formulate a Corridor Vision Plan that will outline the potential future transportation improvements to SR 780/Fruitville Road, the release explains.

The survey will be open through Friday, June 5. “We encourage you to click the link above and share your thoughts!” the release says.
