City of Sarasota administrative offices to be closed for Memorial Day

Parade will begin at 10 a.m. in downtown Sarasota

The City of Sarasota’s administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 30, in observance of Memorial Day, the city has announced, but garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulk waste collections will not be impacted.

Other City of Sarasota holiday hours are as follows, a news release says:

  • Bobby Jones Golf Club: regular hours, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Children’s Fountain: regular summer hours, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Lido Pool: closed, as it is closed every Monday.
  • Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, closed.

The City of Sarasota, in conjunction with the Sarasota Patriotic Observance Committee, will host the annual Memorial Day parade in downtown Sarasota starting at 10 a.m., starting at the intersection of Main Street and Osprey Avenue, the news release notes. The parade will conclude this year at Selby Five Points Park, where a ceremony will begin at approximately 11 a.m., the release adds.
