The staff of the City of Sarasota is encouraging city residents “to participate in a brief online survey about priorities for the City of Sarasota as the City Commission prepares to establish a 2025-27 Strategic Plan,” city staff has announced.

The questionnaire is available at www.Sarasotafl.gov/StrategicPlanSurvey, a news release points out. The survey will remain open to the public through Thursday, Feb. 6, the release says.

“Participants are asked to rank their top priorities for the community and share any additional feedback regarding priorities,” the release adds.

Among those priorities, the survey shows, are affordable housing, “Connectivity Through An Integrated Public Transportation System,” “Creation of a Newtown Tax Base,” “Downtown Curb Appeal,” and the proposal to construct a new performing arts center within the 53-acre Bay Park on the city waterfront.

The survey results will be considered by the members of the City Commission prior to their scheduled Friday, Feb. 14, discussion about their 2025-27 Strategic Plan, the release notes.

“We encourage residents, business owners and visitors to take the survey,” said Mayor Liz Alpert in the release. “The responses will provide valuable input for the City Commission as we establish a Strategic Plan for the next two years and prioritize how resources are allocated.”
