Action necessary to complete work under bridge
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement overnight eastbound and westbound lane closures on Clark Road (State Road 72) from Sunday night, July 6, through Tuesday night, July 8, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the Legacy Trail Overpass on Clark Road, FDOT has announced.
“The detour is necessary so crews can complete the roadwork under the bridge,” an advisory says.
Westbound traffic — vehicles headed toward Siesta Key — on Clark Road will be detoured right onto McIntosh Road, then left onto Ashton Road, and then left again, onto Sawyer Road, before being directed to return to Clark Road, the advisory points out.
Eastbound traffic on Clark Road — motorists headed toward Interstate 75 — will be directed to travel right onto McIntosh Road, to reach Sawyer Loop Road; then, to turn left to travel back to Clark Road.
“Motorists may prefer to take an alternate route or allow for additional travel time,” the advisory notes. “Please use caution in the area.”
