Conservation Foundation inviting the public to enjoy family-friendly trivia, food trucks and other types of fun starting June 9

Monthly events planned this summer at nonprofit’s Bay Preserve headquarters in Osprey

The Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast will conduct a monthly trivia series this summer at its Bay Preserve headquarters in Osprey, the nonprofit has announced.

The free community events will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. with trivia sessions beginning at 6 p.m., a news release notes.

Additionally, each month a different duo of food trucks will be on-site, “offering a variety of tasty options the whole family can enjoy,” the release says.

Members of the public are invited to come to Bay Preserve “to watch, play, or simply enjoy nature and food with family and friends,” the release adds. “Each monthly event will have a different theme with a variety of questions covering categories ranging from movies and music to science and nature,” the release continues. Teams can have up to eight members; multi-generational teams are encouraged.

The dates, themes and food trucks for each event are as follows:

  • Friday, June 9 — Water, Water, Everywhere! The food trucks will be Killik’s Kitchen and Kona Ice Sarasota.
  • Friday, July 14 — Birds of a Feather. The food trucks will be Taste Time to Love Us and Luv 4 Cookies.
  • Friday, Aug; 11 — All Things Florida, with food trucks Big Blue Grilled Cheese Company and Bite Me Cookies by Cindy.

The winning team of each individual monthly event will receive a prize package, the release notes. Points also will be accumulated across the series, the release says, with the overall winning team receiving its choice of a private, guided hike or kayak trip for up to 10 people.

“Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and/or lawn chairs to sit upon for this outdoor, picnic-style gathering,” the release adds.

In the event of rain, the trivia component will be moved to an area under cover. Learn more about the events and RSVP for them at conservationfoundation.com/events.
