Couples invited to say, ‘I do’ again in Sarasota County’s Feb. 14 vow renewal ceremony on two area beaches

The popular Say “I Do” Again vow renewal event will be conducted once again on Sarasota County beaches on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, county Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources (PRNR) staff has announced.

The ceremonies will begin at 6 p.m., a news release says. Sarasota County has hosted this Valentine’s Day sunset event for more than three decades, the release notes.

Couples may register for a non-denominational ceremony to officiated by Judge Debra Johnes Riva at Siesta Public Beach or Judge Maria Ruhl at Nokomis Beach, the release adds. Before each event, participants will be invited to enjoy light refreshments, music, and photo opportunities. Each registered couple also will receive a flower and a renewal certificate, the release points out.

“Sharing a gorgeous sunset on our beautiful beaches with the most special person in your life is the perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day,” said PRNR Program Coordinator Catherine Wunderlich in the release.

Register online or by phone at 941-861-7275 by Feb. 7, the release advises interested persons. The cost is $15 per couple.

On-site registration will be available as well, starting at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 14, with the ceremony commencing promptly at 6 p.m., the release notes. The on-site fee is $25 per couple, the release adds, while supplies last. Credit cards only will be accepted.

Siesta Public Beach is located at 948 Beach Road on Siesta Key; Nokomis Beach is located at 100 Casey Key Road on Casey Key.
