The Dig the Beach Volleyball Series will return to Siesta Key twice this summer as it celebrates its 20th consecutive year, Visit Sarasota County has announced.

The series will be visiting Siesta Key June 9-10 and July 14-15.  The upcoming weekend will feature two full days of action, according to a Visit Sarasota County news release. Saturday will showcase adult two-person teams in both male and female divisions, with the top professional players in Florida competing for a $4,000 purse.

DTB also will feature amateur divisions based on skill levels, so all adults are welcome to compete.

Sunday will feature the fast-growing juniors series, featuring boys and girls ages 10 to 18.

The events this weekend are expected to attract more than 300 teams to Siesta Key. The competition is open to the public, the news release notes. Spectators and family members are encouraged to attend.

Play will begin at 8 am. on Saturday and wrap up around 7 p.m. Junior play on Sunday will begin at 8 a.m. as well and be completed by 5 p.m., according to the news release.
