The public is invited to the presentation of the documentary First Amendment Project, which will be shown at 7:30 p.m. on July 9 at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Fruitville Road in Sarasota.

The Sarasota-Manatee Chapter of Americans United for Separation of Church and State will host the free showing — which will include a reception with wine and cheese — but anyone interested in participating must RSVP by emailing mail@AUsarasota.org, a news release says.

The First Amendment Project comprises three short films that explore the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The total running time is 67 minutes, a flyer notes. “Join us to explore First Amendment rights through headline-grabbing moments when our Constitution’s integrity has been tested,” the flyer adds.

The documentary will be shown in the Jefferson Room of the church, which is located at 3975 Fruitville Road in Sarasota.
