Early voting for the May 9 municipal elections begins on Monday, May 1, and will continue through Saturday, May 6, Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner has announced.

The May 9 elections will be for seats on the City Commissions of Sarasota and North Port.

Eligible voters who live within the city limits of Sarasota or North Port may cast their ballots during early voting between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily at either of two locations, Turner added in a news release:

  • Elections office in the Sarasota County Terrace Building, located at 2001 Adams Lane in downtown Sarasota.
  • Elections office located at Biscayne Plaza, which is at 13640 Tamiami Trail in North Port

Florida Law requires every voter to present photo and signature ID upon entering the polling place and prior to voting. A voter who appears at a polling place without photo and signature ID will be allowed to vote a provisional ballot, the release notes.
