Joel Johnson has joined the board of trustees of Big Waters Land Trust, which is based in Osprey, the nonprofit organization has announced.
Johnson joins trustees Daniel Vigne, chair; David Crawford, vice chair; Joseph Lieberman, secretary; Patrick Pedonti, treasurer; and Mario Bernardis, Robert W. Brown, James Caldwell, Patrick Carlton, Carol Carter, Michael Knupp, Elizabeth Moore and Eileen Scudder-Zimmermann, a news release says.
“Big Waters’ mission is to protect land and water for the benefit of people and nature,” the release explains.
Johnson, who has been involved with Big Waters since 2023, is director of planning and head of signature services at FourThought Private Wealth, the release notes.
“Raising our young family in the Sarasota area, my wife, Bri, and I feel a deep responsibility to protect the natural places where our two-year-old is growing up,” said Johnson in the release. “Spending time together on the water, exploring the coast, and fishing our local waterways is what reminds me why this work matters and why I want to do my part to preserve it for their future.”
