Library Foundation receives $15,000 grant from Gulf Coast Community Foundation to support 13th Annual ‘Love Our Libraries’ Author Luncheon

The Library Foundation for Sarasota County has announced that the Gulf Coast Community Foundation will be the Presenting Sponsor for the Library Foundation’s 13th annual Love Our Libraries Author Luncheon, which will be held on Feb. 7 at The Ora in Sarasota.

“The sellout event will feature internationally acclaimed author Ann Patchett,” a news release points out.

Gulf Coast has provided the Library Foundation a $15,000 grant as a facet of its support, the Library Foundation notes.

“The Love Our Libraries Author Luncheon is the nonprofit Library Foundation’s signature fundraiser,” the release points out. To date, the event has raised more than $2 million to support Sarasota County Public Libraries, the release adds.

“The mission of the Library Foundation is to champion strong public libraries, support innovation and help to extend the library system’s reach for everyone in Sarasota County,” the release explains.

“We are delighted to have Gulf Coast Community Foundation as our Presenting Sponsor and deeply appreciate their longstanding partnership in supporting the foundation and Sarasota County Public Libraries,” said Alisa Mitchell, executive director of the Library Foundation for Sarasota County, in the release.

“Since its founding in 2011,” the nonprofit Library Foundation for Sarasota County has raised more than $8 million in private funds for the benefit of Sarasota County public libraries, the release adds.
