The concession stand at Lido Beach will be closed as of Monday, Sept. 30, while the City of Sarasota makes necessary repairs and upgrades to the pavilion, the city has announced.

In place of the concession, “food trucks will be available most days of the week to provide service for beachgoers,” a news release explains.

“Crews will be installing a new vent hood in the kitchen and a new aluminum roof,” the release continues. “The renovations are expected to be completed in December, at which time the concession will reopen,” the release adds.

The contract with the current vendor expires Sept. 30, the release notes. As a result, city staff is evaluating bids for continuation of the food and beverage service, the release points out.

“Directional signage advising beach visitors about the changes will be in place throughout the pavilion area,” the release says.

After the work on the kitchen and roof has been completed, future planned upgrades to the pavilion will include the installation of shade on the concrete patio and improvements to the restrooms, the release points out.
