On Saturday, March 1, Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department (PRNR) staff partially opened North Jetty Park, which stands at 1000 S. Casey Key Road.

Lifeguard and concession services are available to visitors, a county news release said. Parking is available in the north and east parking lots, the release added.

North Jetty Park suffered extensive damage from Tropical Storm Debby in August 2024, as well as from Hurricane Helene in late September 2024 and Hurricane Milton in early October 2024, county staff reported at those times, providing video and photos on its Facebook page.

Ted Sperling Park at South Lido Beach, which is located at 2201 Benjamin Franklin Drive in the city of Sarasota, adjacent to Big Sarasota Pass, and Blind Pass Beach Park, which stands at 6725 Manasota Key Road in Englewood, are still closed, the release pointed out. Hurricane recovery activities continue in both parks, the release said. Their partial reopening “is expected in the coming weeks,” the release noted.
