From 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, Big Waters Land Trust, will host its “summer trivia showdown” at its Bay Preserve headquarters in Osprey, the nonprofit has announced.

Participants in the free, winner-takes-all event “can expect a wide range of questions touching on topics including movies, music, and more, with a conservation theme woven throughout,” a news release says. The trivia competition will begin at 6 p.m., the release adds.

“Each team can have up to eight members, and multi-generational teams are encouraged,” the release notes. The winning team will take home a prize package including its members’ choice of a private guided hike or a kayak outing for up to 10 people with a member of the Big Waters’ education team, “plus bragging rights until next summer!” the release points out.

Killik’s Kitchen will be on-site “with tasty offerings the whole family will enjoy,” available for purchase, the release continues.

Members of the public are invited to come to the event to watch, play “or simply enjoy nature and food with family and friends,” the release adds. “Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and/or lawn chairs to sit upon for this outdoor, picnic-style gathering.

“In the event of rain, the trivia component will be moved to an area under cover,” the release notes. Learn more about the event and RSVP for it at http://www.bigwaterslandtrust.org/event/end-of-summer-trivia-showdown.
