Staff of the Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department is asking members of the public to share thoughts and ideas about a future neighborhood park.

The 6.2-acre parcel is located at the corner of 46th Street and North Tamiami Trail, adjacent to the existing North Water Tower Park, a county news release says. It was purchased through the Neighborhood Parkland Acquisition Program in 2015, the release adds.

During a community workshop on Aug. 17, staff will share information about potential improvements for the property, seek feedback on those ideas and gather comments from the public, the release notes. The event will begin at 6 p.m. at Crossroads United Methodist Church, located at 4726 N. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, the release says.

An RSVP is not necessary to attend the session, the release adds.
