Swimmers welcomed back as of May 29
On May 29, the City of Sarasota Parks & Recreation District will reopen the Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex pools with limited hours, the city announced.
Public swim time will be provided from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, a news release says. However, advance reservations and prepayment for swim times via the city’s online system eTrak are required, a news release emphasizes.
Reservations will be available in increments of 45 minutes, with each beginning on the hour, to allow for 15 minutes of sanitation between sessions, the release points out. The reservation system will open every Friday at noon, the release says, so patrons may schedule time for the period that will start one week later. For example, a person may access the online system as of noon on Friday, May 22, to make reservations for the pool for Friday, May 29 through June 5.
For online reservations, patrons are asked to go to this link: https://www.letsplaysarasota.com/program-guide/online-registration.
Reservations will be limited to one per person per day, for one swimmer per lane, “unless patrons are from the same household/family unit,” the release explains. If more than one person will be swimming per lane, the person making the reservation will be asked to pay online for one swimmer and then pay the balance upon arrival at Arlington Park.
“If you need to modify your reservation,” the release continues, “please call 941-263-6732 at least 24 hours in advance.” Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance, and those made by people who do not show up, will not qualify for refunds, the release points out.
Locker rooms will not be available, so patrons are asked to wear their swimsuits to the park.
“The indoor gymnasium, lounge chairs, and equipment such as kickboards and water weights will not be available,” the release adds. Further, “Separate entrance and exit gates will be utilized,” the release says.
Patrons are encouraged to check the Arlington Park & Aquatic Complex Facebook page for updates and a video tutorial on the new process for entering and exiting the facility, the release notes: https://www.facebook.com/ArlingtonParkAquaticComplex/.
