New equipment to be installed, necessitating staff training

The Sarasota County Tax Collector’s Office is adjusting its service hours at select locations this month “to accommodate the installation of new driver’s license processing equipment and the implementation of a new cashiering system,” the office has announced.
“During these times,” a news release explains, “staff will be participating in system training.
“We appreciate the public’s patience as we enhance our systems to deliver faster, more efficient and more convenient services to our residents,” said Sarasota County Tax Collector Mike Moran in the release. “These upgrades include expanded modern payment options, such as mobile-friendly services and contactless transactions — with self-service kiosks coming soon.”
The modified service hours are as follows:
- North Port Office — April 15, opening at 9:30 a.m.
- Venice Office — April 10, closing at 2 p.m.; April 15, opening at 9:30 a.m.
- Downtown Sarasota and Mid-County offices — April 15, opening at 9:30 a.m.
Normal service hours will resume following each date’s adjustments, the release points out.
“Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly,” the release adds. “Online services remain available 24/7 at SarasotaTaxCollector.gov.”
