The annual Say “I Do” Again vow renewal ceremony will be held once again on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, at Siesta Public Beach and on Nokomis Beach, Sarasota County staff has announced.

Hosted by the Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department (PRNR) for more than 35 years, a news release notes, the “sunset ceremony includes light refreshments, music, and photo opportunities.” Each registered couple will receive a flower and a renewal certificate, the release points out.

The non-denominational vow renewals will be officiated by 12th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Stephen Walker at Siesta Beach and Circuit Judge Maria Ruhl at Nokomis Beach, the release says.

“A stunning sunset, singing shore birds and a gentle breeze certainly set the scene for love,” said Kristie Lever, a county recreation specialist, in the release. “Now take that scene and pair it with hundreds of other couples eager to renew their vows on Valentine’s Day, and you have our beloved Say ‘I Do’ Again event,”she added.

The fee for a couple to pre-register online or by phone — at 941-861-7275 — is $15, the release notes. Pre-registration is due by Feb. 9.

On-site registration will open at 4:30 p.m., the release adds, with each ceremony beginning promptly at 6 p.m. The cost is $25 per couple, and only credit cards will be accepted.

Siesta Beach is located at 948 Beach Road on Siesta Key; Nokomis Beach is located at 100 Casey Key Road in Nokomis.
