Sarasota County’s popular Say I Do Again event once again will be held on Valentine’s Day on two county beaches, the county’s Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources (PRNR) Department has announced.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. — sunset — on Friday, Feb. 14, at Siesta Public Beach and Nokomis Beach for couples who would like to renew their wedding vows.

Say I Do Again has been held annually for more three decades, a news release notes.

Each year nearly 400 couples renew their commitments to those special persons in their lives, the release continues. Couples wishing to participate in the vow renewal ceremony may register for either the Siesta or Nokomis beach location, the release adds. Each couple will receive a certificate and flower, the release points out.

“Sarasota County beaches are special places in this community,” said Jonathan Poyner, program coordinator for PRNR, in the release. “Sharing a gorgeous sunset on one of America’s best beaches with the most special person in your life is the perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day,” he added in the release

The non-denominational ceremonies will be officiated by Judge Debra Johnes Riva at Siesta Beach, and Judge Maria Ruhl at Nokomis Beach, the release continues. Music and light refreshments will follow the ceremony at each location.

On-site registration will open at 4:30 p.m., “with the ceremony commencing promptly at 6 p.m.,” the release emphasizes. “Register in advance by Feb. 7 for $15 per couple online at https://tinyurl.com/vpfpmk4 or by phone at 941-861-7275,” the release notes.

On Feb. 14, the registration fee will be $25 per couple, the release says.

Siesta Beach is located at 948 Beach Road on Siesta Key; Nokomis Beach is located at 100 Casey Key Road on Casey Key.
