Goal is to keep callers informed and engaged throughout interactions with agency

As part of its ongoing commitment to transparency, communication, and customer service, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has launched Versaterm CommunityConnect™, the agency announced late last week.
“The automated messaging platform will be available to residents, businesses and visitors in unincorporated Sarasota County,” a news release notes. It “is designed to keep callers informed and engaged” throughout their interactions with the agency, the release adds.
“Following a call to 911 or the non-emergency line, callers using a mobile phone will receive an automated text message acknowledging their call for service,” the release explains. “The system will provide updates related to the response, including information about the deputy being dispatched, notifications of delays, and access to helpful resources,” the release adds.
“CommunityConnect™ also enhances communication with victims of crime by providing updates after a report has been filed,” the release points out. “The platform helps keep victims informed throughout various stages of the investigative and judicial process, ensuring they remain connected and up-to-date.”
“In addition, the service allows community members to provide feedback through automated, mobile-friendly surveys” following interactions with Sheriff’s Office personnel, the release adds.
“Utilizing this new technology is another way the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is strengthening communication and transparency while enhancing the level of service we provide to our community,” said Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman in the release.
