Although fewer participated in competition, praise offered for ‘outstanding job with displays’
The Siesta Key Condominium Council has announced the winners of its 2020 Holiday Lighting Contest.
Judging took place on Wednesday evening, Dec. 9, Condominium Council Director Hilla Blatt noted.
The winners are as follows:
- Category I — 101 or more units — first place: Excelsior; second place: Siesta Harbor; and third place: Jamaica Royale.
- Category II — 51-100 units — first place: Fisherman’s Cove; second place: Crescent Arms; and third place: Island House.
- Category III — 50 or fewer units — First place: Sea Shell; second place: Sunset Royale; and third place: El Presidente.
“Contestants were fewer in number this year,” Blatt reported in a Condominium Council email blast. However, on the positive side, she continued, those who entered the contest “did an outstanding job with their displays and many Condos decorated without entering the contest.”
She added, “A big thanks to all and a separate shout [out] to those supplying some tidbits and drinks for the judges.”
Blatt also noted, “We received a comment regarding our division by condo size and will make adjustments next year as the comment was right on.”
The co-sponsors of the event are the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce and Siesta Trolley Inc.
