State House and Senate candidates invited to appear at USF Sarasota-Manatee forum on Oct. 20

Event to be held in Selby Auditorium beginning at 11 a.m.

The University of South Florida (USF) Sarasota-Manatee has scheduled a forum on Saturday, Oct. 20, for state House and Senate candidates seeking to represent Sarasota and Manatee counties, the university has announced.

The forum, set from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., will take place at USF Sarasota-Manatee’s Selby Auditorium, located at 8350 N. Tamiami Trail. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m., a news release says.

The forums for each race are scheduled to begin at the following times with the below candidates invited to participate, the release adds:

  • 11 a.m.House District 71: Tracy Pratt (Democrat) and Will Robinson (Republican).
  • 11:45 a.m.House District 72: Margaret Good (Democrat) and Ray Pilon (Republican).
  • 12:30 p.m.House District 73: Liv Coleman (Democrat) and Tommy Gregory (Republican).
  • 1:15 p.m.House District 74: James Buchanan (Republican), Robert Kaplan (Independent) and Tony Mowry (Democrat).
  • 1:50 p.m.Senate District 23: Olivia Babis (Democrat) and Joe Gruters (Republican).
