The popular sunrise beach walks have begun again at Siesta and Nokomis public beaches, running every Wednesday through March 27, the Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department has announced.

“These fun, energizing walks require a one-time registration fee of $5,” a news release notes. Each participant receives an event T-shirt and a punch card. “Check in before or after a minimum one-mile walk to have your card punched,” between 8 and 9:30 a.m., the release says.

Siesta Beach walkers are asked to register and check in at the main pavilion, located at 948 Beach Road. Nokomis Beach walkers should register and check in at the plaza classroom, located at 100 Casey Key Road.

After completing four walks, each participant “will receive a goody bag filled with items that encourage an active lifestyle,” the release points out.
