Turner points out it is too late to mail them with assurance they will be delivered on time

Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner is asking voters not to delay in returning their mail ballots for the Nov. 5 General Election.
“Time is running out to get your mail ballot back to us, so I am urging voters to make a plan to return their mail ballots as soon as they can,” Turner said in an Oct. 25 news release.
Turner recommends delivering mail ballots in person to one of the three elections offices or one of the early voting sites, the release adds.
“It’s too late to mail your ballot and have confidence it will get to us by 7 p.m. on election night,” Turner said in the release. “With many of us still dealing with the effects of hurricanes Helene and Milton, I am recommending that voters drop off their mail ballots — and do it sooner rather than later.”
“We have received more than 115,000 mail ballot requests for the Nov. 5 General Election,” Turner continued in the release. “To date, more than 50,000 of those ballots have been returned to our office. That means there are a lot of mail ballots still out there.”
Turner added that returning a mail ballot early allows for more time if the Supervisor of Elections Office staff “needs to contact you because of a missing or mismatched signature on the Voter’s Certificate.”
Through Nov. 3, the release points out, voters may return their mail ballots to any of the early voting locations (below) between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.; to any of the three elections offices until 5 p.m. on Nov. 4; and to any of the three elections offices until 7 p.m. on election night.
The three elections offices are located as follows, each with a secure ballot station in which citizens can place their vote-by-mail ballots, the release points out:
- Downtown Sarasota, in the Terrace Building, standing at 2001 Adams Lane, near Payne Park.
- Venice, Room 114 of the R.L. Anderson Administration Center, standing at 4000 S. Tamiami Trail in Venice.
- North Port, located at 13640 Tamiami Trail.
