Visit Sarasota County (VSC) launched Sarasota Big Pass on Aug. 1, marking the second year of the initiative designed to support local businesses during a season that traditionally is slower, the county’s tourism office has announced.

The program will continue through September, with details at www.SarasotaBigPass.com.

Nearly 45 BOGO (buy one, get one free), 25% off and $5 off deals are listed on the VSC website, the release adds. The program was adapted for this year’s pandemic circumstances, the release explains; many offers are available curbside, with to-go features or with social distancing.

“The array of deal categories allows any business to get involved and we’re excited to see quite a variety of offerings,” said Virginia Haley, Visit Sarasota County president, in the release. “There are currently 10 instances of hotel room rate discounts for those who could use a getaway,” she added in the release, along with deals for area restaurants and attractions. “There’s even spa deals you could claim for a bit of self-care during these times.”

No deadline is in effect for businesses to submit deals, the release points out, so people are encouraged to check the VSC website regularly to discover new ones.

To redeem the offers at participating businesses, users should show the deal details on their phones or mention “Sarasota Big Pass.” Some deals require the use of online codes, which can be found in the individual listings, the release notes.

“For those who are inclined to share their savings on social media, using the hashtag #SarasotaBigPass will give them a chance to be featured on Visit Sarasota County’s Facebook or Instagram,” the release says
