At mid-morning on Wednesday, May 8, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) issued an advisory that drivers heading westbound on Clark Road (State Road 72) in Sarasota should expect delays, as the left turning lane for the on-ramp to Interstate 75 south was closed.

“Crews are making repairs to the crossover asphalt on Clark Road,” the advisory explained.

Motorists are to proceed west to the U-turn signal at Catamaran Drive and then head east on Clark Road to access the southbound on-ramp to I-75, the advisory says.

“This traffic pattern is temporary until repairs are completed. In the meantime, use the suggested alternate route or seek other alternatives,” the release adds.

FDOT urges drivers, “Please use caution when traveling in the area,” noting that updates will be provided as conditions change.

FDOT also suggests that drivers access Florida’s navigational app at https://fl511.com/  for the latest information.
