Event to feature food trucks, live music and family-friendly activities

On Saturday, March 1, Sarasota County staff will host the second annual Bay Fest, “a free community event designed to educate and inspire action to protect our bays,” the county has announced.
“In partnership with the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program, Bay Fest offers hands-on experiences, interactive demonstrations and expert insights on how actions on land impact local waterways,” a news release explains.
“Held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Bay, the event will feature food trucks, live music and family-friendly activities,” the release continues. “Take a kayak ride around the mangrove bayou or talk to local experts about seagrass,” the release invites the public. “Enjoy the water views surrounded by live music and so much more.”
The formal location for Bay Fest is 1055 Boulevard of the Arts in downtown Sarasota, the release adds.
Bay Fest is part of Good to Be Green Months at The Bay Park in downtown Sarasota, the release notes. During March and April, the observance will put the focus on sustainability, the release adds. “Discover ways to support conservation efforts and learn how The Bay works to preserve, restore, revitalize and improve the local environment,” the release says.
