Keep Sarasota County Beautiful organizing Fifth Annual Liberty Litter Cleanup
Keep Sarasota County Beautiful is seeking volunteers for the Fifth Annual Liberty Litter Cleanup, which will be conducted July 5 on area beaches, including Siesta Public Beach and Turtle Beach.
The event is set to start at 7 a.m. and conclude at 9 a.m.
The other locations where help is needed are Lido Beach, Nokomis Beach, North Jetty Park and Ted Sperling Park on South Lido Beach, a county notice says.
The July Fourth holiday period typically brings many tourists to the county — and, especially, its beaches. County staff has offered heartfelt appreciation in past years to members of the public who help clear the shoreline of the debris remaining after the visitors leave.
Pre-registration is required for the cleanup, the release adds. The first 150 volunteers who do register will receive this year’s commemorative T-shirts, the release notes. Requested sizes will be guaranteed for those persons who register by Friday, June 8, according to the Keep Sarasota County registration form.
All volunteers will receive work gloves, as well as bags for trash and recyclables.
