All Sarasota County Tax Collector offices will be closed Monday, Aug. 31, as staff members complete final preparations for the transition to Grant Street Group’s TaxSys tax collection software platform, the Tax Collector’s Office has announced.

“Offices will reopen with normal business hours on Tuesday, Sept. 1, with the new, modern technology platform in place,” a news release notes.

“The Aug. 31 closure will allow staff to complete the final steps necessary for the transition ahead of the Sept. 1 launch,” the release explains. “The new platform will provide a more streamlined experience for customers,” it points out.

“This modernization has been more than a year in the making, and our staff has put a tremendous amount of work into preparing for this transition,” said Sarasota County Tax Collector Mike Moran in the release. “We’re excited to bring TaxSys online and see that work translate into an enhanced experience for our community.”

The release adds, “Customers are encouraged to plan ahead for the Aug. 31 closure.”
