The Fire Frogs, the Atlanta Braves’ Minor League Baseball team, will conduct home games in the Braves’ new Spring Training facility, CoolToday Park, for the 2020 season, the Braves have announced.

The team plays in the Florida State League, a Braves news release notes. “The move is subject to final approval by Minor League Baseball,” the release says.

The Atlanta Braves Florida operations staff will oversee the team, the release adds.

CoolToday Park is located in the West Villages, near North Port and Venice.

The Fire Frogs are the Braves’ High-A affiliate; the team previously played its games at Osceola County Stadium, the release explains.

“We are excited to have the Fire Frogs play their home games in CoolToday Park this upcoming season,” said Mike Dunn, Atlanta Braves vice president of Florida operations, in the release. “The goal for our facility has always been to have as many events here as possible, and the Fire Frogs will add an entire summer of baseball.”

CoolToday Park will host its inaugural Atlanta Braves Spring Training season this year, the release points out, with pitchers and catchers reporting on Feb. 12 and position players reporting on Feb. 17.

To christen the ballpark, the Braves played their final 2019 Spring Training game there, versus the Tampa Bay Rays.

Information on the Fire Frogs’ home schedule will be released at a later date, the release says.
