Most facilities to be closed
Most Sarasota County and City of Sarasota government offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, their staff members have announced.
In both the city and the county, garbage, yard waste and recycling collections will be affected, the local governments point out.
For the county and the city, the releases note, no changes will be made for customers who have pickups Monday through Wednesday. On Thursday, Nov. 28, no items will be collected in the city or county. Thursday customers will receive service on Friday, while those who normally have their collections on Friday will see pickups on Saturday, Nov. 30.
“Because collection times vary,” that county release points out, “residents should place materials at the curb by 6 a.m. on the day of pickup.”
